AIM for General Engineering uses dedicated machinery operated by skilled and experienced technicians who can complete almost all aspects of mechanical engineering. Some of our key activities are listed below:

 

  • Grinding and finishing of bearing surfaces on camshafts and crankshafts to remove grooves or scoring from previous use and ready to accept after-market oversize shell bearings

 

  • Replacement and machining of new inlet and exhaust valve seats in cylinder heads

 

  • Re-grinding and seating of inlet and exhaust valves in cylinder heads

 

  • Milling and fine grinding of engine blocks and cylinders heads to remove warping or distortion

 

  • Straight and helical gear cutting

 

  • Vertical boring and finish honing of cylinder sleeves and liners

 

  • Horizontal boring for correct alingnment and seating of crankshaft and camshaft bearing faces in engine blocks and cylinder heads

 

  • Long bed lathe for machining and checking alignment of propeller drive shafts

 

  • Adjustments and modifactions to drive train suspension systems for engine, gearbox, driveshaft and propeller configurations
